Stars of Science
This month's Wired reminded me why I like it so much. I found a number of great articles, but the most thought-provoking was about a reality show on Arab Television. Billed as 'stars of science' it followed a group of inventor/scientists that went through an American Idol process to promote, develop, build, and finally get funding for their idea. In a region plagued with unrest and strife, this show is promoting science and innovation in that region. The article concentrated on some of the finalists and it was a riveting read. This wasn't like some of the silly ideas on say 'Shark Tank'. These were genuine inventive devices and it covered all aspects of the process. I'd would be riveted to the show if they made it here and stayed true to the premise. Take note american TV and get this made, now. If you want to read it, Wired has it on their website here...http://www.wired.com/magazine/tag/stars-of-science/

Politics
They say politics are something you should never talk about if you want to have a civil discussion. That we have to say that is actually a good indication of what's wrong with our system to start with. We live in a country dedicated to freedoms and inherent values, but we can't even be trusted to express our opinions on them. I'm sure the founding fathers had some disagreements, but they found a way to work together, form a more perfect union and America was born. Today it seems like we're just working on a more imperfect union. Maybe we lost track of what 'more perfect' means. The goal was never a perfect union, just a more perfect union. Rather than attempting to satisfy everyone or your own party, we should instead settle on goals, processes, and procedures that instead satisfy the majority of people, even if that means some compromises on both parts. Less just get closer to perfect, instead of insisting on things being exactly how we want it despite how it might affect others. Okay, rant off.

Inventory
One part of me updating my inventory program is getting it complete. The last big holdout on my part is the comic spreadsheet I have from years and years of collecting. I need to convert it out and decide what to import in my new cool iPad database. I've been putting it off due to the amount of the comics involved, but it's on my 'soon' list. Sadly, I seem to shift a lot to that list. I'll have to clean that up... soon.
Much Fun Now
Over the weekend me and my brother got a chance to continue playing some Saint's Row the Third. The game continues to just be an awesome way to spend time bonding over needless violence and action. We were able to complete all of our collectibles, a bunch of activities and diversions, and streak all around the islands! Heck I even made level 50 and became almost invincible and yet I'm still having a superb time. I love games like this that just make you appreciate it over and over.

Icey
Well the weather-men were mostly right, once they corrected the timing. We got a decent small dusting with accumulation and some ice. Since I wasn't planning on going anywhere I didn't bother messing with the ice much as it's quite thin and hard to get off with just a shovel. Luckily it's supposed to warm up some by the time we get to Monday. So all should be good by then.
